Overview
Vatra helps people discover and create nearby social plans. This policy describes the information needed to operate that experience and the choices available to you.
We do not sell your personal information. We use information to operate Vatra, protect accounts and participants, respond to support requests, and improve reliability.
Information you provide
- Account information, including the email address used for authentication.
- Profile information such as your required nickname and self-reported age, plus photos, bio, interests, and optional profile details.
- Vibe details, photos, time information, and the general meeting area you choose.
- Messages, join requests, participation activity, blocks, reports, and other actions you take in the app.
- Information you include when contacting support or requesting account or data deletion.
Location information
With permission, the app can use device location to center the map, sort nearby activity, and create a privacy-preserving public location. Public map pins are approximate rather than a publication of your raw GPS point.
Location privacy does not make every detail you share private. A place, address, landmark, photo, or other detail that you intentionally add to a Vibe or message can be seen by people who are allowed to view that content. Share only what is appropriate for that audience.
Technical and service information
- App version, device or platform details, and diagnostics needed to investigate failures.
- Notification registration information used to route alerts to the correct signed-in account.
- Device identifiers, crash or error reports, service activity, timestamps, login history, and security-relevant account events.
- On our website (vatravibe.com, formerly viblly.app), Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights count page views and measure page speed. They do not use cookies or build a profile of you; they receive the page visited, the referring site, campaign parameters in the link, browser, device type, and country, which we see only in aggregate. The Vatra app does not use these tools.
Push notifications
Vatra may send messages, invitations, join requests, Vibe updates, nearby-activity alerts, safety notices, service announcements, and account-related notifications. You can disable notifications in your device settings.
Using Vatra without an account
You can explore the public map without creating an account. You see only public content: no profiles, messages, or exact locations.
If you turn on notifications without an account, we store a random installation identifier created by the app, your device’s push token, its platform and time zone, your notification choices, and the area you want to hear about. That area is your device’s location only if you allow location access, or a city you pick, and it is rounded to about 1 km. We use this only to send public discovery notifications such as new Vibes and Helps nearby, at most two a day and never during your quiet hours. Turning notifications off stops them at once. Records that are off are deleted after 90 days, and the delivery history after 60 days. Creating an account or signing in on the device ends this registration.
Places you hide without an account are kept only on your device. With an account, hidden places are stored with your account so they follow you across your devices; they are never shown to anyone else.
We count, per day and in total only, how Vatra is used without an account, for example how many times the map was opened. These counts contain no device identifier, location, or content.
How information is used
- Provide the map, Vibes, Live presence, profiles, messaging, notifications, and account controls.
- Apply visibility, membership, blocking, reporting, and abuse-prevention rules.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve product reliability.
- Respond to support, safety, legal, and deletion requests.
Visibility and sharing
Profile identity, public profile photos, approximate map activity, and Vibe information may be visible to other people according to the product’s access rules. Private messages and restricted media follow the relevant conversation and membership rules.
Service providers that host or deliver Vatra features may process information on our behalf. Information may also be preserved or disclosed when reasonably necessary to address safety, fraud, legal obligations, or valid lawful requests.
Retention and deletion
Information is retained for as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate safety, security, fraud-prevention, dispute, and legal purposes. Vatra does not publish a fixed universal retention period.
You can request account deletion in the app or through the process described on the Account Deletion page. Deletion of the app from your phone does not delete your account.
Data security
Vatra uses reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Children’s privacy
Vatra is intended only for adults age 18 and older. Vatra does not knowingly seek personal information from people under 18. If you believe a minor has provided personal information or faces exploitation, use the Child Safety reporting process.
The app requires a self-reported eligible age. Vatra does not claim that every user’s identity or age has been independently verified.
International processing
Information may be processed and stored in countries where Vatra’s service providers operate. Those locations may have data-protection rules that differ from the rules where you live.
Your choices
- Control device location and notification permissions in your operating-system settings.
- Edit supported profile and Vibe information in the app.
- Block other accounts and contact support about safety concerns.
- Request account or data deletion using the published processes.
- Depending on your location and applicable law, ask about access, correction, restriction, objection, or portability rights that may apply to your information.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Vatra changes. The date shown on this page will be updated, and additional notice may be provided when required.
